Jimmy Dykes

Jimmy's Oldest Sister - Tina Jewell

This is a poem written in memory of Jimmy and left at my church for me to find after my brother's death. I am the eldest of eight. Jimmy was the youngest of us. It has been extremely difficult for me and was even more difficult for me to put into words how I felt about Jimmy. I feel that I never had enough time to spend with Jimmy. The following poem helps explain how I felt and still feel:

He was only a boy with an illness not to be cured.

All of the pain and suffering that everyone endured.

A boy who was loved he was special as a dove.

The dove that flew away was really the boy would wanted to stay.

Now all there is to say is :

Jimmy Dykes you will be missed and loved always?
